At the age of twenty, author Jill Brazier lived in a bamboo treehouse above Lake Atitlan in the village of San Marcos, La Laguna, Guatemala. While there, she met Doley. They spent the next fourteen years together as travel companions and best friends. Jill honors the beautiful land of Guatemala and her friendship with Doley in this series of bilingual picture books for kids. Jill holds a Master of Teaching Degree with an ESOL endorsement (teaching English Speakers of Other Langauges). Currently, she teaches Multilingual Learners in a K-5 setting.
